Why We Spelled It Backwards

There’s a reason most people never question the word “normal.” It’s everywhere. It’s comfortable. It sounds like safety. But when I started Lamron Wen I started asking myself a question I couldn’t shake: who decided what normal was supposed to look like — and why did I keep following it without thinking?

Lamron Wen is “New Normal” spelled backwards. That wasn’t an accident. It was the whole point.

I didn’t want to build just another brand. I wanted to build something that meant something before you ever bought a thing from it. The name is a statement: not everything the world calls normal is worth keeping. Some things need to be flipped. Examined. Rebuilt with more intention. That’s not a radical idea — it’s an old one. Faith has always been about standing apart from the crowd, not because you’re better, but because you’re committed to something higher. Discipline is the daily proof of that commitment. Legacy is what it leaves behind.

Those three words — Faith, Discipline, Legacy — aren’t marketing language. They’re the standard I’m trying to live by, and the standard I want this brand to represent. I started Lamron Wen because I believe men are capable of building something real, something that outlasts them, and that the first step is deciding you won’t settle for the version of yourself that the world handed you.

The tagline is “Starts With A Standard.” Not ends with one. Starts. Because the work begins the moment you decide what you actually stand for.

I won’t pretend I had it all figured out when I launched. I didn’t. The first drop was a starting point, not a finished product. That honesty matters to me. I’d rather be real with you and grow than perform perfection and fade. We’re holy and human here — holding to something worth holding, but doing it as people in the middle of the process.
